Why you should listen to Enya every day

Spread the love

I sleep and wake up every day with Enya.

Enya transports you into a dreamy ethereal world. Another realm of consciousness. A world of no impossibilities. A world of clarity. A world of appreciation for nature, love, hope and faith. This is why you should listen to Enya every day.

In Enya’s world, I see the fictional characters in my head. I sit down and hold conversations with them. I see life from a different perspective. Enya unlocks your creativity.

Enya’s melodies and harmonies can make you cry as she hums, chants or sings. Her music is spiritual.

There’s a song for every range of emotion and theme.

When I nurse a heartbreak, she would whisper to me, “You know love may sometimes make you cry. So let the tears go, they will flow away. For you know love will always let you fly, how far a heart can fly away, Amarantine, Amarantine, Amarantine, Love is always love”

When I listen to Cursum Perficio, I become the king of an empire. I am clad in battle armour and leading my troops on horseback to an epic battle.

When I can’t sleep at night, she puts me to bed in Song of the Sandman:

“Make a wish and when you close your eyes I will come to you, Dream of morning’s golden light when you and I will leave the night…”

In Orinoco Flow, I go on an adventure, sailing with her to foreign lands:

“Carry me on the waves to the lands I’ve never seen. We can sail, with the Orinoco flow. From Bissau to Palau in the shade of Avalon. From Fiji to Tiree and the isles of Ebony. From Peru to Cebu, feel the power of Babylon. From Bali to Cali, far beneath the Coral Sea.”

In Athair Ar Neamh, I feel the soothing effect of the Gaelic lyrics. In Echoes In Rain, I chant Hallelujah with religious fervour. In Storms in Africa, my imagination runs wild.

Enya’s music is enthralling, the depth and vocal dexterity in Hope Has A Place hooks you: “Look to love and you may dream, And if it should leave then give it wings. But if such a love is meant to be; Hope is home, and the heart is free.”

You can find yourself reaching out to a long lost friend, lover, family member after listening to, “Is there a way I can find you, Is there a sign I should know, Is there a road I could follow? To bring you back home?”.

Enya is a complete musician. Little wonder she is one of the top-selling female artists of all time. Little wonder she performs for royalty and papacy. Little wonder her songs are used as soundtracks in epic movies like Lord of the Rings trilogy. Her type of music is rare, this is why you should listen to Enya every day. I think she needs to groom a successor who will take her place when she finally quits music.

Enya’s music is not for everybody though –  the banal, brutish and closed mind cannot appreciate her type of art.

Enya is one of the few musicians that I can give my right arm for a chance to attend their live concert. So go ahead and listen to Enya’s music today!
